How To Stop Self-doubt If You Want To Make A Positive Impact

I’ll be going over some of the most common ways people experience self-doubt, and then talk about how to get rid of it.
Self-doubt is a natural part of life. If you’re human, chances are that at some point in your life, you’ve felt like an imposter who doesn’t deserve to be where they are or do what you do. It’s normal! The problem is when this feeling becomes so overwhelming that it keeps us from doing things that could be really important for our lives. That’s why it’s important to take some time every day and focus on building up your self-confidence so that when thoughts of self-doubt pop up again, they don’t feel quite as strong or scary anymore.
Self-doubt is the enemy of innovation and creativity
When we doubt ourselves, we’re more likely to avoid taking risks and trying new things. This can hold us back from making a positive impact by achieving our goals.
However, there are ways to overcome this obstacle. Here are some tips for stopping self-doubt:
Be realistic about your abilities. We all have strengths and weaknesses. Don’t let yourself dwell on what you’re bad at; focus on what you’re good at. If you’re not sure where your strengths lie, try writing down everything you’ve done well in the past week or month and see if any patterns emerge. You can even ask people who know you well what they think your strengths are (and ask them why they chose those words).
Identify someone who inspires you—someone who has achieved something amazing despite their own self-doubt. It could be a friend, family member, coworker… anyone who has inspired you in some way before now. Look to celebrities as well like athletes and BIPOC personalities – they have to deal with a lot of external barriers as well as their own internal ones!
Focus on your strengths instead of your weaknesses. We all have weaknesses, we all have things we’re not very good at yet. Focusing on those things only makes us feel worse about ourselves. Instead, try focusing on your strengths and improving them. The more time you spend doing something well, the better at it you become. And then when someone asks what your best trait is? You’ll have an answer ready in no time!

We believe that when you stop listening to those voices telling you that you can’t do something, and start listening to your own inner voice instead—the one that tells you exactly what you need to do next—you’ll find yourself on the path toward an even bigger vision than the one before it.
