It’s time to stop caring about what other people think. That’s right—you heard me. I’m talking about confidence. Having so much that it strengthens belief in yourself. And I’m here to tell you that it has nothing to do with the approval of others.
Confidence is a state of mind, not a social status. It’s not something you can measure or quantify with a number or a grade in an exam. It’s also certainly not something that comes from how others judge you.
So if you’ve ever wondered how to be more confident I’ll show you how, when you just strengthen belief in yourself!
This is probably the most important piece of advice out there when it comes to boosting your confidence! Comparisons are unhelpful and only lead to unhappiness. You are enough as you are, so focus on what makes YOU great instead of worrying if someone else is doing better than you at something (trust me—they’re not).
This one’s simple: When faced with an opportunity or challenge that requires confidence, take a moment to reflect on how far confidence is the key to your success. It’s the secret sauce that helps you strengthen belief in yourself. It goes with all the other ingredients, and it’s what makes sure they all taste good together. But how do you get your hands on some of this confidence?
Affirmations are positive statements you can make to yourself. They’re like little statements that remind you of your goals, values and strengths. So when you’re feeling down about something—or just generally not-confident—say an affirmation out loud! And write it down! You’ll feel better knowing that you have these reminders handy whenever you need them.
Meditation is great for calming your mind and helping you focus, which are both things that help build self-confidence! So try meditating for just 5 minutes every day, or even once a week if that feels too daunting (it’s totally fine if it does). Just get into a comfortable position and focus on your breath going in and out of your nose… maybe count each time until you feel like your mind has settled down enough to move onto something else like making phone calls or brainstorming ideas for a project at work!
When you stand up straight, you feel more powerful and confident—and it changes the way people treat you.
Wearing clothes that fit well will make you look better in your body image, which will help give you confidence in who you are as a person.
If there are things about yourself that you aren’t so confident about (like being short or having bad eyesight), own it and make sure other people know about it too so they stop pointing it out all the time!
There’s a lot of talk about confidence these days. It’s the buzzword of the moment, and everyone seems to be looking for ways to be more confident. But what does it actually mean? It means that you can be yourself and do what you need to do without worrying about what people think of you. This is how you strengthen belief in yourself. You know who you are, and you’re not afraid to bring that person into your life. If you’re looking for ways to gain confidence, try out these practical tips.
