Life is hard.
You know what else is hard? Finding the motivation to do things you love when you’re overwhelmed by everything else in your life.
When you’re feeling overwhelmed, it can be hard to remember the things that make you happy.
Whether it’s a passion project or just a hobby, finding time and space for the things that make you feel truly alive is a surefire way to get back on track.
And what if I told you that it’s possible to revive your passions when you’re overwhelmed by life?
Whether it’s an hour in the bathtub or a weekend away from work and family, making sure you have time for yourself is crucial to feeling like yourself again.
When we feel overwhelmed or stressed, our brains tend to go into overdrive—and that can lead us to feel disconnected from the world around us and our own bodies. Try taking a walk outside or doing yoga at home to help reconnect with your senses and calm down your mind.
Whether it’s something small like what groceries you need this week or something big like brainstorming ideas for a new business venture, putting pen to paper can help get your ideas flowing again so they’re ready when you need them most!
Clear away distractions like turning off notifications on all of your devices or shutting down social media apps while working on something important. Better yet, take time off from social media altogether until after you finish what needs doing.
When you’re feeling overwhelmed with life, it’s easy to lose sight of all the things you love doing. But don’t let yourself get stuck in a rut: there are lots of simple ways to bring back your passion.
When you’re not feeling overwhelmed, think about what makes you excited. If you’re having trouble getting started, take some time out of your day and write down everything that makes you feel excited or happy about yourself or life in general. You might be surprised at how many things there are—even if they aren’t directly related to one another.
Find something new. If there’s something that makes you feel excited but isn’t on your list yet, try exploring it for a bit (or forever). You never know when something new will become your favourite thing to do!
