I know this is controversial but babe, there’s so much out there now attesting to holistic therapy beating disease and obviously, I am here for it all! I’m going to preach it and now I’m discovering more sisters who are living breathing and preaching it too – so I am pumped.
Donia Youssef is an award-winning author of adult & children’s books. She’s written a number of children’s books that help them understand cancer including “the monster in mummy.” She’s a fierce campaigner for mental health and uses her social platforms to give others a voice to share their stories. Plus, she’s working on an incredible project that will provide care and support to those facing or overcoming cancer.
In this episode, Donia kindly shares her cancer journey, her strength, how she found the courage to get through the most traumatic times in her life and that she attributes it all to her mindset.
It’s no secret that women have it tough and perhaps stronger women have it a little tougher because of the picture that they portray to everyone else. You know the one, that they’re always “fine.” Asking for help, getting support, being vulnerable and still carrying on with your day to day. It’s a lot and takes its toll especially if you don’t have the right community behind you.
