In this episode, I talk about Badges of honour that you’ll find people using – almost as a way to say, I’m woke! Don’t even get me started on woke people. What I’m talking about is saying that you’re something as if it’s so self-aware of you but then you’re either not turning it into a superpower or you don’t realise that there’s something not quite right about what you’re saying.
I’m going to talk about a couple of examples that people tend to use as badges of honour and I’m going to flip it so that it becomes something helpful and powerful instead.
I’ve picked a few that really piss me off (I find when something pisses me off, I can help better) so they are:
We’re conditioned from an early age to be a certain way. Whether that’s what we see from our parents/ guardians and then school and then media and society. We then choose (unconsciously) which path suits us. We then live our lives this way until we hit a bump in the road and realise that we’re not being true to ourselves. This is because quite honestly, we don’t know who we bloody well are.
Cue the Life coach :-). And you know who I’m talking about. No doubt you have people in your life who are always fine. Who work so hard, are exhausted and keep achieving and they use badges of honour to essentially make themselves feel better about what they’re not being honest about.
So whichever camp you fall into an empath, busy or an over-worker, just remember that we control our minds. Whatever you want from your life, you need to tell your mind everyday. So if you don’t want to be stressed, you need to say “I am calm and in control.” Never say what you don’t want because the brain processes it as a want. And you have to say it in the present as if you already have it.
