Navigating big feelings with my 5 yr old!
So you read the title right, this is a very special episode co-hosted with my 5 yr old Mykah. He listens to the show (usually when I’m checking the editing in the car) and obviously loves the sound of my voice!
I was inspired to do this episode because he’s going through some growing stuff at the moment and he understands so much that I wanted to get his perspective on what’s going on with him.
My aim for this episode is to see if we can understand each other better in a bid to navigate his big feelings in a helpful way.
For those of you listening with kids, you could use the questions I ask him with your own kids to open up a dialogue with them about their feelings – in the hope of normalising open communication with each other and showing them that you are the ultimate safe space for them. This will also help them understand compassion and trust.
For those of you without kids, I hope the show inspires more self-awareness of your own big feelings and how you channel them in your day to day. I believe in keeping things simple so hopefully, Mykah’s answers will be simple and easy enough for you to do too.
