Lockdown has been difficult for many reasons but I think the biggest reason is the amount of time its actually given us to think about our lives. If you’re like me, this has been great and you’ve been sorting through your life and making it better. If you’re like the majority, you’ve struggled with all the thoughts that have come up for you, in particular navigating a crossroad in your career.
You might be feeling like it’s time for change after being in the same career for a while. Perhaps you feel like you’re stagnating and that’s why you’re now in a crossroad in your career. It may be that you are not feeling challenged anymore, or you just might want to change things completely.
Whatever the reason, it is always a good idea to reflect and see if you really need to be changing your work or whether this crossroad in your career might be signalling something else entirely.
Self-doubt will definitely show up every time you think of changing things in your life especially with a career. Therefore, in this show, I’m going to help you figure out what might be going on or holding you back from taking your next steps.
Most work problems are personal problems in disguise.
Reflect into your work history and see if you have regular issues with communication or even just the same problems no matter which company you work for. Rather than feeling like you’re at a crossroad in your career, it might be something deeper that needs investigating.
This is not to put blame on you (some companies are just rubbish) but being more self aware might end up giving you the insight that’s missing.
Learn to understand what your values are now, today especially as a result of the pandemic. Use those values to guide you towards your next steps and be confident in your decisions.
